FSPA began in the 60's as Region VII of the NSPI. It was a nonprofit where most of the work was all handled by volunteers. On July 23, 1970 the region became incorporated as the Florida Swimming Pool Industries Association.
The region office was originally a payroll office to facilitate the hiring and record keeping associated with the part-time chapter executive directors. Now it is the state office for an independent association where most of the action happens. The tradeshow, Board meetings, and swim meet are planned, the administration of education is handled, information is disseminated to members via print, web, e-news, text and membership management and benefits are handled.
