Congratulations to those who recently earned their Swimming Pool & Spa Certification and to Josh McCarthy, Owner of McPools, Inc. of Bradenton, for his accomplishment of using his certification to earn his Certified Pool/ Spa Servicing Contractors license!
  • "The 60 hour program was one of the best investments I have made into myself and my business. I originally enrolled in the program just for the licensing benefits. However; the content of the program has advanced my career and knowledge significantly.  How amazing it was to get my FPPS designation and the 60 hour certificate in one package. The other benefit I made was the connection with other pool professionals in the program."

Josh McCarthy, Owner of McPools, Inc.

Need a service license? The Florida Swimming Pool Contractor Pre-Licensure Certification Course is your answer!

The Swimming Pool & Spa Service Certification Course is a 60 Hour course (Including WS, WC, BP, and L&R)  and helps you meet the education requirements of Florida Statue 489.111 and substitutes for three years of experience. This is not an exam prep course (it does not address the business portion of the exam, it does not prepare you for the exam and it does not provide you with the books you need for the exam).

The course  must be taken as part of the FSPA pre-licensure program. Taking courses offered elsewhere will not count toward the pre-license requirement. After successful completion of all course requirements (Passing Exam required) a certificate will be awarded to submit to the CILB with application for licensure. As part of qualification for licensure the Applicant is required to meet required one (1) year/2000 hours of experience under the guidance of a licensed contractor.
