The Swimming Pool & Spa Service Certification Course is a 60 Hour course (Including WS, WC, BP, and L&R) and helps you meet the education requirements of Florida Statue 489.111 and substitutes for three years of experience. This is not an exam prep course (it does not address the business portion of the exam, it does not prepare you for the exam and it does not provide you with the books you need for the exam). The course must be taken as part of the FSPA pre-licensure program. Taking courses offered elsewhere will not count toward the pre-license requirement. After successful completion of all course requirements (Passing Exam required) a certificate will be awarded to submit to the CILB with application for licensure. As part of qualification for licensure the Applicant is required to meet required one (1) year/2000 hours of experience under the guidance of a licensed contractor. The price for non-members is $2,200 plus a $300 enrollment fee; FSPA member price is $2,200 plus $50 enrollment fee. The price includes course manual and workbook, handouts and FP2S certificate (must pass test).

The Florida Public Pool Specialist course was developed by the Florida Swimming Pool Association and approved by the state of Florida Department of Health as an approved 16-hour Florida public pool service technician certification course. Certification is good for 5 years. This course is approved by the Florida Department of Health for student certification as a Public Pool Service Technician under Chapter 514, F.S., and Chapter 64E-9, F.A.C.

The Certificate of Completion awarded at the completion of this course may be used to apply for the LP Gas Master Qualifier Certification with the Florida Department of Agriculture, Consumer Services Division. Completing the LP Gas Master Qualifier courses earns you a certificate which is required to sit for the exam.
