Q:  I want to install LP gas swimming pool heaters and appliances what license do I need?

A: Your business will need to hold the Category V LP Gas Installers License to install LP Gas pool heaters and other LP gas appliances; these license are administered through the Florida Department of Agriculture. In addition to installation of LP gas equipment, the Category V license also enables your business to sell or rent LP gas equipment and LP gas and extends to the service and repair of LP Gas Equipment and piping. To hold the Category V LP gas license your business will also have to be qualified by an LP Gas Master Qualifier who is an owner or a manager of the business. To become a Master Qualifier you will need to have served as a Qualifier for and LP Gas licensed business for at least three years and passed the Master Qualifiers exam. Master Qualifers will need to take 16 hours of approved LP gas continuing education every three years, CILB CE will not satisfy this requirement.  Learn more about LP Gas Licensing and LP Gas Master Qualifiers here: industry.floridapoolpro.com/Licensing/LPGasLicense.aspx
