Some builders in the Space
Coast Chapter have recently had trouble with inspectors in our county who are
not accepting certain floating alarms. The Florida Statutes and Florida
Building Code specify that floating pool alarms must meet the objective
standards set under ASTM F2208 and some inspectors are not accepting these
results. This can have serious consequences, since the alarm is an
integral part of a pool passing final inspection. FSPA Government Affairs
Manager Dallas Thiesen took up this cause for us recently and arose
